Dean – School of Law, Bennett University
V.C. Vivekanandan is the founder Dean of the Law School at Bennett University. He has more than two decades of teaching and research experience in legal education and holds a PhD in IPR, Master’s Degrees in the field of Corporate Law & Public Administration. His teaching and research focus are in the segments of IPR, Internet Law, Artificial Intelligence & law and Entertainment Law. He has several publications in professional journals and invited speaker at various forums in India and Abroad in the fields of IPR, Internet Law and International Law.
He is on lien from NALSAR University of Law Hyderabad, having served as the Director of NALSAR Proximate Education and MHRD IP Chair Professor prior to his joining Bennett University. He has more than two decades of teaching and research experience in legal education and holds a PhD in IPR, Master’s Degrees in the field of Corporate Law & Public Administration.
He started his teaching career with National Law School of India University Bangalore and was also the Dean of the Rajiv Gandhi School of IP Law at IIT Kharagpur. He is also an Adjunct Visiting Professor at the Business School of SUNY Buffalo.
As the MHRD IP Chair Professor, he participated, as the official Indian Delegate for negotiations on Copyright and Related Rights at WIPO Geneva between 2013-15.He was an NWO-ICSSR research fellow with Maastricht University in 2010 and the Research Fellow with the Institute of Intellectual Property at Tokyo in 2015. He also served as the Asia Pacific representative of ALAC in ICANN and also was a member of the Nominating Committee of ICANN between 2008 and 2011. He was also the founding member of the Legal Information Institute of India in 2010.
