Lisa Macklem is a member of the OBA, CBA, ABA, and BHBA. Her LLM in Entertainment and Media Law is from Southwestern in Los Angeles. Currently, she is completing a PhD at the University of Western Ontario on digital content delivery, focusing on the Entertainment industry, and the challenges of global regulations. While in LA, Lisa worked for Cinema Libre and NuMedia Studios. Her JD from Western is with a specialization in IP and IT, and she is currently completing a PhD in law at Western focusing on Entertainment issues and the regulation of content in the digital environment. She served on the alumni editorial board for the ABA Journal of International Media and Entertainment Law.In fall of 2016, she presented at CopyCamp2016 in Warsaw, Poland and both “The Technology Divide” and “Piracy in Films and Television” at the 5th Global IP Conclave in Mumbai, India. In April of 2017, she presented on Trademarks in China at the 1st Panda International Forum and in Bengaluru, India at the World IP Forum on the efficacy of including IP in International trade deals. Lisa is a Member-at-large on the Executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Entertainment, Media and Communications Law Section. In the summer of 2017, she collaborated on a research project with the Centre for International Governance Innovation on a project that examined the nexus between International Law and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
